Without the fans and the standard cushion, it is certainly a lot better.
But for me it is still not as perfect as in the previous BMW generations comfort seats.
At least I can drive now 8hours+ without pain which was impossible before where I did have pain in the legs just after 30min+
if you remember where you saw how they do the modification write to me privately.
I did put a link in my previous post
The cushion modification can improve the situation as well.
Bevore I changed the cushion I did find some reports of people doing so
I neither remember were that was (not in this forum) nor if they removed all of the fans or just the outer ones though.
Edit
Think it was motortalk were I found reports of just removing some fans
You need to buy the heated mat according to your cushion.
The one for the ventilated seats has some cutouts for the fans afair.
I did not check the diagnosis with the missing 4 bottom fans yet. But the fans in the backrest still work flawlessly. You also do not get an error massage in the headunit.
The seatheating mat is glued to the cushion.
If you want to remove it, you will destroy the cushion and it most probably is a pain in the butt to remove all the residues from the heating mat. The chances that you are destroing the mat in the process is pretty high, too.
I would not reccomend doing so. A new heating mat is the way to go
what do you mean by beads? the net in the seat? but has anyone on the forum tried to eliminate only the two side fans including the rigid support for their support in the foam. and plug the holes successfully?
The gray Stripes/Beads (Keder in german)
These are pretty annoying as well.
The net in the seats make it a bit harder, but this is not what is pushing you in the butt as you would sit on something
As I understood Kelle, he did try to remove just the fans on the side without success and did finally exchange the cushion/foam
The seat ventillation is pretty weak anyways.
Removing the fans in the bottom is no big loss and the additional comfort is a lot more worth than having some "warm air" around your booty.
That is at least my opinion
strange the compression zone is on the sides where I can actually touch the fans. I have never felt the central area causing pain. do you think all that mesh compromises the comfort of the seat?
I do not think, that it is the mesh making the seat uncomfortable.
For me it was 80% the fans (I did exchange the cushion) and 20% the beading (which still is there)
If you do not bother the effort, you could try remove the fans on the side first and fill the holes with foam.
I never missed the fans though, so for me it was the best choice to change the foam/cushion.
Ich möchte mich nicht einmischen was die sinnvollste Variante ist den DPF auszubauen weil ich es nicht selber gemacht habe, aber ich habe in vielen Autos jedes Teil ohne Hebebühne ausgebaut.
Gehen tut das meines Erachtens also ganz bestimmt.
An die Teile unterm Auto kommt man ja auch mit einem Wagenheber dran.
Mit Hebebühne ist das aber natürlich viel einfacher und bestimmt die bessere Lösung (wenn man die Möglichkeit hat)
